Solo year wrap up, 2023

Autumn is the time to start saying good bye to the old and more pleasingly starting to plan for the new year to come.

This year has been my first solo year at the allotment and if I do say so myself, it’s gone pretty well.

I have gathered over the last year, that solo can mean challenging. No one to bounce ideas off, no one to chat to and more realistically, no countability partner.

‘In fact, It’s quite solitary’

You may think I am bonkers, when I say, I’ve met a new friend.

‘A Tiny Little Robin’

This tiny creature is always there, following me around, surveying my actions.

Sometimes I catch myself chatting to my new friend and surprisingly, it looks at me nodding and joining in the one-sided conversation.

Over the year I have become quite fond of my little companion.

Taking up food, endlessly bending its ear and strangely feeling comfort that there is two of us again.

Sometimes I wonder if Dad is still there, listening, surveying, chuckling at this unlikely friendship?

Anyway………………

Today, is about planning not pondering.

Remember you may not feel strong but you are.

Love
