Is the most important and oldest festival of the Christian church.
It’s a time of year when an egg symbolises new life and the resurrection of Jesus.
In 1873 the boiled painted eggs turned into a chocolate delicacy, thanks to the Fry family.
I wonder if the Fry family would have anticipated the magnitude of this little phenomenon.
Also, how much gratitude the children of the world would be showing them for the concept of being able to eat chocolate from breakfast to dusk.
For Billy the run up to Easter has been busy, from an Easter bonnet parade, spending time as a family and a little allotment fun.
Making the Easter bonnet was a little technical, a couple of weeks earlier Billy had found some corner protector packaging in a skip at a friend’s work shop.
Billy saw 4 of these and with a little help from his dad, he fished them out.
Billy ensured me that these were going to be put to good use, at the time I wasn’t so convinced.
Billy is defiantly a magpie when it comes to finding things, we can’t go past a skip, garage sale, second hand shop without a visit.
With out a doubt, Billy is the first one in to find some unwanted treasure he can reuse.
And on this occasion, he was on the money.
Last weekend he started to design his bonnet, the corner protectors came out and put against the hat.
He explained with a genius look on his face, it needs rabbit ears.
So, with a little paint and a bit of cutting they where ready for Alec to sow on.
Billy was chuffed with his one of kind hat.

On Good Friday we decided to seize the day.
An impromptu night before decision to go fossil hunting.
Over the years we have realised that Billy’s health is so unpredictable at times that if the stars are lined, just do it.
Billy is really into dinosaurs at the moment and he wanted to go to Lyme Regis to find his own fossil treasures.
So, we obliged with an early morning drive for a day trip.
To our amazement we found fossils on the local beach.
Billy was so excited and this was shown outwardly to anyone that was happy to listen to his excited shouts.
Billy also spotted that most of the other fossil hunters had hammers, so not to be out done, he went off and found an alternative.
A old bit of pipe with a T section on the top, replicating the shape of a hammer.
Then proudly walked around Lyme Regis with his new top of the range hammer and brought it home for safe keeping for next time.

Before going to bed on Saturday Billy told me that the Easter Bunny had a tracker, I wasn’t convinced.
So, we decided to Google it.
I don’t know why I question Billy as he is often right and, on this occasion, he nailed it.
There in front of my eyes was the Easter Bunny sat proudly in the middle of the screen in Saudi Arabia.
As the line was not far from the UK and he has no concept of where Saudi Arabia is, Billy promptly went to bed.
At 6am on the dot, Billy was up and ready to see if the Easter Bunny had left him any choc choc for breakfast and he didn’t disappoint.

After a hardy breakfast in bed it was time to enjoy a little therapy at the allotment.
Billy was excited by the mornings job list, he opted to wash the outside of the polytunnel and dig holes to put in slug traps.
As Scrumpy and I planted some seeds.
Its was lovely to hear Billy so happy with natures tune playing in the background.

For us down time is about family.
This is not dampened by our location, where ever we are, we try and enjoy the moment.
Happy exterior equals happy memories.
So, for now Happy Easter everyone, our thoughts are with all the families that are facing challenging times.
Remember you may not feel strong but you are
